11th VI-HPS Tuning Workshop (MdS)

Maison de la Simulation, Saclay, France, 22-25 April 2013

To help improve the quality and accelerate the development process of complex simulation codes in science and engineering, the Virtual Institute - High Productivity Supercomputing develops software tools for checking the correctness and analyzing the performance of parallel applications. Emphasis is given to the programming models MPI & OpenMP.

Goals of this workshop:
  • give an overview of our programming tools suite
  • explain the functionality of individual tools, and how to use them effectively
  • offer hands-on experience and expert assistance using the tools

Classroom capacity is limited, therefore priority will be given to applicants bringing working parallel codes to analyse and tune with guidance provided by experts. Participants are therefore encouraged to prepare their own MPI, OpenMP and hybrid OpenMP+MPI parallel application codes for analysis. Measurement and analysis of accelerators will be covered for the first time, and there will be opportunities to analyse MPI+OpenMP+CUDA applications.

This is a free PRACE Advanced Training Centre course: for further information visit the VI-HPS-TW11 workshop web page.
